Meet Sarah Mapes, Founder and Managing Director of ThinkOps. Sarah partners with growing organizations to turn their operations and HR functions into clear, scalable systems that support sustainable growth. As a Fractional COO and HR Ops Strategist, she helps leaders move from workarounds and complexity to structure, clarity, and momentum.
Sarah founded ThinkOps to expand her impact through fractional leadership. Throughout her career, she has supported executives, teams, and organizations through periods of growth, change, and transformation, ensuring operations are not just functional, but a strategic advantage. Her work focuses on building systems that truly support how work gets done, across people, processes, and technology.
ThinkOps supports small to mid-sized organizations that are building or strengthening their operations and HR functions. Sarah works alongside founders, executives, and in-house teams, providing senior-level guidance and additional capacity where needed to bring clarity, structure, and scalable operational and HR solutions.
With over 15 years of experience across consulting, higher education, private equity, and professional services, Sarah brings a strong blend of strategic insight and hands-on execution. Prior to founding ThinkOps, she served as Vice President of Operations, where she led cross-functional initiatives, system implementations, and process transformations that drove efficiency, improved employee experience, and supported rapid growth.
As a Fractional COO and HR Leader, Sarah leads complex, cross-functional projects spanning HR, IT, Finance, and Operations. Her expertise includes HR operations, system implementations and integrations, change leadership, and project management. She is known for translating business needs into practical systems and workflows that teams can adopt and sustain, positioning organizations for long-term success.
Sarah holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from Harvard University Extension and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire.
